Antidepressant Controlled Trial For Negative Symptoms In Schizophrenia (ACTIONS): a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomised clinical trial

  • Type:
Extended Research Article Our publication formats
  • Headline:
The study found adjunctive citalopram did not improve negative symptoms in schizophrenia, but there was a positive effect on avolition/amotivation. An assessment of side-effect burden did not identify any serious safety or tolerability issues, and addition of citalopram as a long-term prescribing strategy may merit further investigation.
